Agriculture here is shaped by the Tungabhadra dam and its canal network, which makes the Gangavathi, Karatagi, Sindhanur and Kampli side one of the most heavily irrigated paddy tracts in Karnataka. That produces a different pattern of work from dryland districts: paddy nursery, transplanting, harvest and rice-mill work follow the canal release schedule, while banana, cotton, maize, chilli and sugarcane hiring runs on its own calendar. Openings include farm supervisors, tractor and harvester operators, drip-irrigation fitters, nursery and polyhouse hands, and grading, weighing and loading staff at mills and mandis. Much of this work is seasonal by nature, so listings often state the expected duration, and operator roles that need a licence or machine experience pay noticeably more than general field work.
